Applied Business Communication Program Coordinator
BIR Training Center is a multi-campus proprietary regionally accredited institution of career and language education. Established in 1993, BIR Training Center educates over 2,000 students annually at its three Chicago campuses. BIR is seeking to fill a full-time position of Applied Business Communication Program Coordinator. The selected candidate will oversee all aspects of the Applied Business Communication program, assume an active role in promoting BIR’s English Language Programs to prospective students, and establish connections with local companies, colleges and universities.
Qualifications
We are seeking a professional who has:
- expertise working with current social media platforms
- experience implementing social media campaigns
- post-secondary classroom experience, preferably with international students
- experience in program administration, development, promotion and marketing
- an advanced degree in Business, Communication, or a related field
- high energy, creativity, and initiative
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction and Program Management
- Teaches courses in Social Media and Business Communication
- Develops and improves program curriculum
- Guides students in social media presence and professional identity development
- Coordinates social media infrastructure for students in Applied Business Communication Program
- Leads faculty committees for curriculum and textbook recommendations
- Participates in hiring and evaluation of faculty
Applied Business Communication Internship
- Strives to establish connections with potential employers
- Designs internship process and supporting materials
- Assists students with internship application and placement
- Monitors the internship process
Outreach and Program Promotion
- Utilizes social media platforms to promote Applied Business Communication and other ELP programs
- Maintains strong social media presence
- Presents the program to external and internal audiences
- Actively seeks partnership agreements with local colleges and universities
- Serves as a liaison between BIR and companies interested in special programming

Associate Faculty Manager
BIR Training Center is a multi-campus proprietary regionally accredited institution of career and language education. Established in 1993, BIR Training Center educates over 2,000 students annually at its three Chicago campuses. BIR is seeking to fill a full-time position of Associate Faculty Manager. The selected candidate will work directly with faculty members and report to the Faculty Manager.
Qualifications: We are seeking a flexible individual who has:
- An advanced degree in Business, Engineer or related field.li>
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- 5+ years of post-secondary teaching experience;
- 2+ years of supervisory experience;
- Microsoft Office Proficiency.
- Proficient in Social Media outlets such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter
Duties per Area of Responsibility:
Faculty
- Participate in observations and evaluations of faculty members
- Coordinate substitution of instructors
- Follow-up with current instructors on updates of procedures
- Help maintain faculty database
- Provide Instructors with appropriate course materials
- Develop and organize professional development events
Hiring
- Participate in the hiring of faculty members for all programs by screening, interviewing, and making recommendations for hiring to the Faculty Manager
- Conduct new instructor orientation
- Create and maintain instructors' qualification documentation and collect supporting documentation
- Recruit faculty members through social media outlets
Satisfaction Surveys/Evaluations
- Plan and manage school wide student satisfaction surveys, feedback and follow up
- Provide feedback to instructors of all programs
Other
- Participate in the creation and maintain BIR¿s Faculty Website
- Actively participate in communication with social media outlets
- Follow up on student complaints of instructors
- Manage student workers.

MAP Externship Cohort Coordinator
BIR Training Center is a multi-campus proprietary regionally accredited institution of career and language education. Established in 1993, BIR Training Center educates over 2,000 students annually at its three Chicago campuses. BIR is seeking to fill a full-time position of Academic Support Specialist. The selected candidate will provide academic and administrative support for the Academic Affairs Department
Position Summary:
The MAP Externship Cohort Coordinator is responsible for groups of student externship placements and management of their career services during their externship modules. This is a fast-paced scholastic environment involving contact and interaction with students, staff and physicians. Reports to the HCP Externship Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet with students as an initial point of contact for externship placement
- Coordinates activities including consulting with medical sites
- Conducts externship prep sessions to assess student talents
- Recruit local medical offices and facilities to build networks and good rapport.
- Placing students at externship sites.
- Keep accurate records of medical offices and facilities, student progress
- Call students to confirm classes
- Follow OSHA and HIPAA Standards and protocols
- Calculate and post student grades
- Assist with mock interviews during Career Development Course
- Work with AltaPoint Billing Software
Qualifications:
Computer skills, experience in business communications, use Excel spread sheet, operate computer programs such as AltaPoint billing software and EHR's, Windows words, type a minimum of 40 wpm, scheduling appointments, emailing and correspondence, pleasant personality and good customer service a must. Experience in Healthcare Administration preferred.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Health Care Administration, 3 years experience as a Certified Medical Assisting with certifications through AAMA, AMT or NHA

Adjunct Faculty - GMAT and Business English Instructor

Qualifications:

Part-time Medical Coding Instructors
BIR Training Center is a multi-campus proprietary regionally accredited institution of career and language education. Established in 1993, BIR Training Center educates 2,000 students annually at its three Chicago campuses. BIR is seeking part-time Medical Coding Instructors for its Health Information Technology Program at its South Loop location.
Candidates should have:
- Solid knowledge of diagnostic and/or procedural coding and/or reimbursement; and
- A college degree and 3 years of hospital or clinical coding experience and be competent in medical software such as AltaPoint, Medisoft, Lytec or similar.
Prior teaching experience as well as CCS/CPC certification from AHIMA /AAPC are desirable.
