TOEFL, the Gateway to Your Future

TOEFL scores are accepted by more that 6,000 colleges and universities in 110 countries. A good TOEFL score is essential for pursuing an education in the United States and competing more successfully in the global job market.

BIR understands that getting into universities is competitive. Our TOEFL program is structured to meet the requirements of “Next Generation” TOEFL®iBT (internet based test), which emphasizes integrated skills and the ability to use and understand English as it is spoken, written and heard in a college or university setting.

What to Expect in the Classroom

BIR’s TOEFL®iBT (Internet Based Test) preparation program is a series of seven week courses. Each course is a test-specific module, including computer based simulation exercises designed around the actual TOEFL®iBT.

Instructors will lead you through each module using a textbook and adapting the material to best fit the needs of the class. Students will have the opportunity to practice and thoroughly discuss each of the four language areas: Reading, Listening, Writing, and Speaking are discussed thoroughly. This structure allows BIR students to develop TOEFL skills in a supportive, yet challenging environment.

Your Instructors

BIR’s instructors are devoted professionals with extensive experience teaching TOEFL® iBT preparation. Their creative insight is used to adapt lessons from the text in a manner that is easy to comprehend. You will benefit from their guidance in the classroom, in workshops, and in tutoring sessions.

Workshops

BIR offers workshops in the four major categories of topics represented on the TOEFL (Arts, Life Science, Physical Science, and Social Science). Exposure to significant events and concepts in various academic areas will expand your vocabulary and knowledge base, translating into a higher TOEFL score.

Tutoring

The Learning Center offers one-on-one and small group tutoring, workshops, online resources and conversation groups. Tutoring services are included with your tuition.
